OUR MISSION

The Minority Veterans Benefits Access Initiative (MVBAI) is committed to eliminating racial and gender disparities in access to The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)including disability compensation, education, home loans, healthcare, and more.

MVBAI proudly serves all veterans, regardless of race or gender. But while every veteran has earned the right to VA the data tells a difficult truth: Black, Brown, and female veterans are consistently denied the care and support they deserve and earned.

While all veterans are entitled to these benefits, data shows that Black, Brown, and female veterans are consistently underserved. A GAO report revealed that Black veterans have the lowest VA disability claim approval rates—up to 22% lower than White veterans—and continue to face systemic barriers across other critical programs. In the area of homeownership, minority veterans remain significantly underrepresented in VA home loan approvals, limiting their ability to build generational wealth.

MVBAI was founded to change that. We empower minority veterans through:

  • Free, one-on-one assistance with navigating VA claims and programs

  • Advocacy for policy reforms and greater accountability

  • Education and outreach tailored to underserved communities

  • Partnerships with real estate, legal, and financial professionals to remove systemic barriers

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every veteran—regardless of race, gender, or background—deserves full access to the benefits they’ve earned through service.

¡We won’t stop until the VA works for everyone!

OUR COMMITMENT

Closing the Gap

Most Americans begin their journey toward financial stability and generational wealth through homeownership —yet, minority and female veterans continue to face persistent barriers to accessing this fundamental stepping stone. According to recent GAO findings and insights from the Minority Veterans of Benefits Insights (MVBAI) initiative, disparities in awareness, access, and navigation of VA benefits continue to prevent these veterans from fully benefiting from the services they've earned.

MVBAI offers a proven roadmap to help veterans overcome these challenges—providing tailored, culturally aware support to guide them through home loan access, disability claims, education benefits, and health care enrollment.

By equipping minority and female veterans with trusted information, one-on-one assistance, and a supportive community, we’re helping to close the racial and ethnic disparities gap in VA benefits compensation and open pathways to better health care and long-term financial independence.

Your support enables us to expand this work—ensuring that every veteran, regardless of race or gender, has the opportunity to thrive, build wealth, and pass on a stronger future to the next generation.

Support Our Cause
